Hosanna Prison Ministry has several ways that it reaches out to incarcerated women and their families

Bible Study

Recognizing that Oklahoma incarcerates more women per capita than any other state, Hosanna Ministries is working to improve the lives of women inmates.  Because 60 to 80% of inmate population cannot read or write and approximately 60% of the inmate population never went beyond the 6th grade, Literacy Missions is at work in this area as well.  There currently are several Bible studies at the Mabel Bassett Prison.  We teach Beth Moore Bible studies on Monday afternoons.  Everyone is invited to attend, but there is limited seating available in the chapel area.  The Hosanna Prison Ministry is an important factor in reaching the inmates for Christ.  Nearly every religion has some form of ministry in the prison.  Therefore, we need to be teaching the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ.

Mommy and Me

Mommy and Me tape ministry allows an incarcerated mother to read a book to her children.  Recording equipment is used to make a cd that is sent along with a book directly to the children of these incarcerated mothers.  If you have any books that you would like to donate, please contact Polly Ward at 405-387-5556.
