Wednesday Adult Classes

WHBC offers a wide variety of Wednesday-evening Bible studies.

6:30 p.m. classes

  • What question have you always wanted to ask about the Bible and Christian faith? Are there questions that bother us?

    • Can I trust the Bible?

    • Is God real?

    • Is there really a heaven and a hell?

    • What about all the people who never heard about Jesus?

How do we respond to others who pose those questions to us? How do we deal with those questions? What does the Bible say about these things?

    Leader: Bruce Christian

  • In the BEMA Discipleship class, we study the scriptures with an eye on traditional Hebrew customs and meanings. Using a weekly podcast, we discuss the text with a rabbinic approach to understanding the Word of God. Join us as we view Scripture with a fresh look at God’s Word through historical context.

    Leaders: Marshall & Emily Deidigh

  • As you read the book of Acts, you may wonder, “are these the same disciples I read about in the Gospels? The ones who doubted in Galilee and ran for their lives in Gethsemane?” The answer is no. They are different. The Spirit dwells within them. And what God did for them, he longs to do for you. Join us each week as we walk the roads of Acts—the amazing account of God’s active Spirit among His servants and Christ’s Church spreading to the world.

    Leader: Larry Smith

  • Women’s Bible Study

As followers of Jesus, we know that prayer is essential to our daily walk with Him. But at times, the practice of prayer can begin to feel stagnant or obligatory—just another thing to check off the list. Jesus invites us to something much deeper—a flourishing prayer life that draws us closer to the heart of God. Journey through Scripture to discover the relationship with our Heavenly Father.

    Leader: Melissa Johnson

  • Through biblical teaching, mentorship, and practical leadership training, this class equips young leaders with a Christian worldview to help navigate today’s challenges, stand firm in faith, lead with character, and impact their world with integrity and purpose.

    Leader: Rodney O’Dell
