Wednesday Adult Classes

WHBC offers a wide variety of Wednesday-evening Bible studies.

6:30 p.m. classes

  • We’ve all heard the phrase: When the going gets tough, the tough get going. What about faith? Will your faith thrive in tough times? Do you desire a more resolute faith?

The book of Daniel relates the familiar Sunday School stories of the lions’ den, the fiery furnace, and some remarkable prophecies, but take some time to investigate these stories more closely. How did Daniel, Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego possess such a fearless faith? Perhaps no one in the Bible possessed a more resolute faith in God than these individuals. Daniel and his peers never took the easy way out, but stood their ground, even in the face of death. Study this extraordinary Old Testament book.

    Leader: Ron Ferguson

  • This one-stop, how-to-defend-your-faith study will equip Christians to advance faith conversations deliberately, applying straightforward, cool-headed arguments. They will discover not just what they believe, but why they believe—and how being on guard with the truth has the power to change lives forever. Most importantly, you will have defense for God’s existence, find evidence of the truth of Jesus’ personal claims and resurrection, and address the problem of suffering. You won’t want to miss this class.

  • In the BEMA Discipleship class, we study the scriptures with an eye on traditional Hebrew customs and meanings. Using a weekly podcast, we discuss the text with a rabbinic approach to understanding the Word of God. Join us as we view Scripture with a fresh look at God’s Word through historical context.

    Leaders: Marshall & Emily Deidigh

  • Inside the holiest of holy places in the tabernacle stood the Ark of the Covenant. This gold-covered box was Israel’s most sacred object and the one that most symbolized God’s presence. Its power and uniqueness has given rise to all sorts of curiosity, speculation, and mystery surrounding the ark. Even longtime students of the Bible still have questions about the ark. Join us as we tackle questions many believers still have today.

    Leader: Larry Smith

  • (Women’s Bible Study)

This class is designed to help break the stigma of mental health and give women the tools for healing and a healthy perspective of themselves.

    Leader: Debora Looper

  • Women’s Bible Study

Join us for an inductive-style study through the book of Revelation—not pushing a specificend-times interpretation, but to deepen your understanding of Christ’s glory. Jen Wilkin guides us through the meaning and symbolism of Revelation as the early church would have received it, offering historical and cultural context that brings clarity to a book often misunderstood.

Through powerful connections to Old Testament texts, this study helps us see how Revelation reveals Jesus as the victorious King—worthy of worship, trust, and hope.

Leader: Carole Holmes / Melissa Johnson

  • (20s–30s)

This class explores what it means to live a life of integrity rooted in Christ, focusing on how that impacts our relationships, families, and personal growth.

    Leader: Rodney O’Dell
